Project Description
CASE STUDY
NSW Aboriginal Housing Office
The Energy Project was engaged as Technical Advisor for the NSW Aboriginal Housing Office Air-Conditioning and Solar project.
This role involved:
- Strategic advice regarding program design and delivery
- Development of technical specifications including system sizing
- Assistance with procurement including tender assessment
- Installation review meetings with contractors
- Provision of ongoing technical advice and quality assurance
- Assistance with project management
- Quality assurance of installed systems
- A report assessing the cost-benefit of different air conditioning technologies for deployment in western NSW
The Energy Project also initiated engagement with the Ombudsman and retailers to attempt to resolve systemic metering installation issues.
More recently The Energy Project has scoped a solar and air-conditioning project for an aboriginal community in north-western NSW.
The Aboriginal Housing Office (AHO) engaged The Energy Project (TEP) in 2016 to firstly undertake the mechanical cooling report which enabled the AHO to scope up a project for the rollout of Air Conditioning to approximately 1000 homes in remote NSW.
TEP were also involved throughout the lifecycle of this project as a technical advisor capacity including tender specifications, tender evaluation, selection of contractors, scoping properties, technical advice and quality assurance. The AHO has continued its relationship with TEP, hiring them to be the technical advisor on our Solar project which involves installing Solar PV on approximately 1000 homes in NSW.
They have had a hands on role throughout the lifecycle of this project including being heavily involved in the tender/tender evaluation process, technical advice, contractor queries, shading issues and desktop/on site quality assurance inspections.
I have always found TEP to be very professional, knowledgeable and go above and beyond what is expected of them. I would highly recommend using their professional services.
