DANIEL STRONGGROVE
Energy Consultant
Daniel is an energy management and sustainability specialist with extensive experience in the local government sector. In recent years he has been the Energy Management and Sustainability Advisor for Cairns Regional Council. In this role, he has developed a strategic whole-of-Council approach to embed energy management into Council operations from policy to engagement, to project delivery, procurement and reporting. He also managed Council’s renewable energy programs. He has a deep understanding of the complexities of local government and has developed a unique skill set to navigate these to achieve outcomes.
Daniel has also pursued a passion for sustainability and teaching as a lecturer at Adelaide and James Cook Universities while also founding and operating an organic waste composting business in partnership with a regional Queensland Council. He has a PhD in Mechatronics and a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (Hons) from the University of Adelaide.
